About Me
Hi, I'm Owen Houghtelling. I recently graduated from Saint Mary’s College summa cum laude with a double major in Economics & Data Science + a minor in Math. I have been a tutor and academic coach the last four years and it truly is my mission to help students!
Experience
CWCS
At CWCS, I thrived as a mathematics tutor with over 15 students not only passing, but excelling in the classroom. My dedication yielded impressive results: two-thirds of my students from last semester achieved over 99%, and I consistently helped others raise their grades by significant margins, some by over 50%.
Peer Mentoring
Over the past two years at SMC, I've served as a dedicated peer mentor, guiding over 50 students on their academic and professional journeys. My support included major/minor selection, career planning, resume building, and general academic guidance. This resulted in numerous mentees securing leadership positions and internships, showcasing the success of our collaborative efforts.
Private Tutoring
My private tutoring experience extends to family, friends, and independent clients, encompassing subjects from elementary English to AP Calculus. This diverse background equips me to support students in any academic field, with a particular focus on math and entry-level data skills.
